The basic plot!!

due South is a hour long (45 mins in the UK) Canadian production set in Chicago, but made in Toronto.

The story concerns a by the book Mountie called Benton Fraser (Paul Gross) who is forced to move to Chicago after the murder of his father, Sgt Robert Fraser, in the frozen wastelands of the Northern Territories.
In his search for the killer, Fraser meets up with street wise Chicago cop Ray Vecchio (David Marciano) who is in charge of the case in Chicago
Fraser helps Vecchio find the killer and bring him to some kind of justice (The killer was eventualy shot!).

On his return to the Territories Fraser uncovers a government conspirisy and is forced to move to the safest place, being Chicago
There he and Ray become the best of friends, with Fraser helping Ray solve some of the cities more unusal crimes in his own unique mud tasting, piddle sniffing way.

Oh yeah and there's also Fraser trusting deaf wolf Diefenbaker.
