2006:

2006 is the year that the British Anti-Nuclear Campaign resurfaces. The reason is that the government is shaping to introduce a new Nuclear Power programme consisting of 10 to 20 nuclear power stations. It has been forced into this because it has failed - in its 9 years of office - to deal with the issue of climate change.

We believe that this programme of nuclear power stations will in fact, not only cost the earth, but will do nothing to reduce CO2 emissions. Even worse, it will destroy what hopes we DO have of introducing the necessary measures that WILL stop climate change.

Our aims:

We aim to:
  • explain the real truth of nuclear power to the people of Devon.
  • stop any possible nuclear power station in Devon.
  • support the Stop Hinkley Campaign in nearby Somerset www.stophinkley.org
  • join with campaign groups across the country to protest against this dangerous technology.

Energy Review:

The Energy Review has produced a major call for Nuclear Power - even though the majority of responses were against it. So much for consultation.
