ExxonMobil must support the Kyoto Protocol

Climate change is the most serious threat facing our planet. Scientists now agree that that pollution from burning fossil fuels is causing the Earth's temperature to rise, resulting in drought, floods, storms and the spread of disease.

But ExxonMobil's environmental record across the planet is a cause for concern - and it's efforts to block international agreements on greenhouse gas reductions are leading us to a dangerous future.

I urge you therefore to:

• cease all activities aimed at obstructing action to combat dangerous climate change.
• publicly support the ratification of the Kyoto Protocol by the US Government.
• shift all financial and technical resources earmarked for additional fossil fuel exploration and production, to the development of renewable energy technologies.
