OUR NEXT DAY OF ACTION:
Saturday - 24th May 2008
"Stop the Expansion of Exeter Airport" Campaign
Exeter Airport wishes to expand threefold by 2030. This would seriously jeopardise all attempts to stop runaway Climate Change.
Our Day of Action will be held outside Boots on the High Street, between 10am and 2pm.
Please come and visit us, and sign a postcard objecting to the expansion of the airport.

Climate Change is caused by Human Beings ...
... it is not a natural phenomenon
|
This graph - from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Fourth Assessment Report (Nov 2007) - shows clearly that the observed increase in global temperature (shown by a black line) follows the pink zone which includes natural and man-made (anthropogenic) climate forcings.
The blue zone shows only natural forcings. If our climate today was just natural then global temperatures would have gone down since 1950.

Stop the Expansion of Exeter Airport
Greenhouse gas emissions from air travel will take up our full CO2 emissions target by the year 2026, if the expansion of air travel is left unchecked.

BAN THE BURNER
The proposed incinerator will increase CO2 emissions. MBT (Mechanical Biological Treatment) is a better alternative, because it will reduce CO2 emissions.
