Sewing Machine Appeal

The village of Dumbutu is situated in The Gambia – West Africa. There is no electricity and the water for the whole village (Population approx 350) is pumped by hand from the well each day. The villagers have no source of income and each day is a struggle for survival. By providing the village with sewing machines they can make clothes for themselves and produce goods for sale in the far away markets of Seracunda and Banjul. Also required are manual typewriters for use in the school and hand tools for wood / metalworking
