Royal School for the Deaf Exeter aims to provide a happy, safe and secure environment in which deaf children and young people can reach their full potential.

For many deaf children, mainstream school can be a hard experience, where loneliness and social isolation are commonplace. It can be a place where they do not receive the specialist support they need and find themselves excluded from much of the social friendships and activities that go on within the school.

Royal School for the Deaf Exeter are specialists in enabling children to overcome their deafness and to achieve academically. We also provide a peer group for deaf children to develop socially and emotionally. We have been highly praised by Ofsted for enabling our pupils to leave school independent and capable of working and living within a hearing world.

“High quality teaching,
