I secured a residency under the Year of the Artist scheme in 2000/1 to create a series of images that responded to the premise that the cave, probably the oldest human refuge, would potentially become the last form of refuge on this planet.

The images are in the form of photographs of cave paintings and engravings as might be found by explorers of this planet thousands of years into the future.

They reflect on contemporary life (as we know it) and could pose some interesting questions as to what our successors will think of their ancestors' lifestyles.
