SIGNIFICANT ASTROLOGICAL EVENTS 2001

JANUARY 9TH 2001 Lunar Eclipse: Integration of energies released during Partial Solar Eclipse of 25.12 2000. Commencement of Kumbh Mela festival in India.

      MARCH 18TH MARS CONJUNCTS PLUTO. This occurs roughly every two years, but has particular significance following the Chiron Pluto conjunction of Dec ´99, and the coming Mars Chiron conjunction with the Galactic centre. An opportunity to release old male archetypes. Now would be a good time to let go of old power issues ~ attempting to hold on to them will probably become very uncomfortable.

      APRIL 22ND Second Pallas Athene/Pluto conjunction. This is the retrograde part of the cycle, so will took the energies deeper, helping to root out old power patterns, which may be lurking in the unconscious. Pallas challenged Jupiter, so confronting what may have seemed to be harmless, even beneficent, but nevertheless patriarchal patterns of behaviour.

MAY 1ST      First Mars / Chiron conjunction of the year. The process of healing the wounded masculine begins.

MAY 11TH      MAY 29TH SECOND MARS / CHIRON CONJUNCTION (27° 06´ SAGITTARIUS) WITHIN ¼° OF THE GALACTIC CENTRE, at 26° 51´ Sagittarius.

      This unique conjunction began the process of redefining the whole masculine archetype, flowing from the spiritual source of our Galaxy. This opened the possibility for the clear expression of the warrior spirit from the highest possible source in our being, individually and collectively. It also began a process of purification of the old wrathful and vengeful warrior archetype from within human consciousness, which we see being played out in the latter part of 2001.This first contact occurred at a very refined level of consciousness, and will take some considerable time, and several other alignments before it manifests fully into the Collective. However, it is an energy which is available to us if we choose to focus on its qualities of integrity and the right use of will in order to manifest the deepest spiritual values in our being. This was the beginning of the grounding of the energy of the First Ray into collective consciousness, which is a particularly challenging Ray to integrate at the human level. The First Ray brings in the uncompromising energy of the Divine Will, which initially will clear away, often quite ruthlessly, those factors which are inhibiting the manifestation of that will and continued growth and evolution of consciousness. It can often manifest destructively, particularly when it is approached from the level of ego, without reference to the spiritual core.

      The next stage in this process was to be the Total Solar Eclipse on June 21 (solstice) over Africa, also aligning with the Galactic Equator (central axis of the Milky Way)

      JUNE 21ST 2001 TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE OVER S. ATLANTIC
begins off Montevideo, Uruguay.
MAXIMUM ECLIPSE AT 12.04 UT at 11¼S11´ 3¼E08´ (11:11:11) off Angola Coast.

      This Eclipse passed over the South Atlantic, Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Madagascar. It was a Northern Hemisphere Summer Solstice and Southern Hemisphere Winter Solstice Eclipse. The first of two eclipses imprinting into Southern Africa, lands where there is much gold, silver and precious crystals ~ a lot of Earth Dragon energy ~ the seeding of the new Heart centre for the New Age.
The time of the greatest eclipse on the 8th August 1999 was 11:03 UT; this is the size ratio of the Earth and the Moon, the Earth being 11, the Moon is 3

      For this eclipse in Africa the moment of the greatest eclipse occurred at 12:04 one on from the last total eclipse.. what a coincidence!
Not many eclipses occur on solstices either, and guess what, the Sun was just 11 minutes into Cancer. The path of this eclipse closely mirrored the path of the 1999 eclipse.

      As we all know this has been a troubled part of the world so, as the shadow energy is released from the Earth in those places and new planetary and cosmic encodings go in, it was important to be in position to work consciously as energy transformers and bridgers between the spiritual and the material.

      The star map below illustrates how the Eclipse (Sun, Moon conjunction) aligns with the Solstice point (0° Cancer) and the Galactic Equator. The Galactic Equator moves slowly in relation to the Solstice point, so this is an extremely rare occurrence for these three celestial events to align.

STAR MAP FOR ECLIPSE 21.6.2001 12.04 UT

      Note how the upstretched hand of Orion is "holding" the Sun and Moon, symbolically carrying the impulse from the Galactic Equator through the doorway of the Eclipse and into the constellation of Orion, which traversed Africa (east to west) during the time of this Eclipse. The pyramids of Egypt are the representation on Earth of the stars of Orion´s belt, Alnilam, Alnitak and Mintaka (see The Orion Mystery by Robert Bauval and Adrian Gilbert). Orion is the archetype of the wounded God-king, the divine masculine. He was murdered by his more earthly brother Set, who cut his body into pieces, scattering them throughout Egypt. It fell to Isis to restore him to wholeness, but she was unable to find his phallus - the wounding resulted from the separation between the spiritual and the sexual/instinctual levels of the masculine, when incarnating into duality. The feminine (heart and womb) holds the key to the healing of this wound, witnessed by the power of the Pallas / Pluto conjunctions this year as they contain the healing energies of Mars and Chiron.

      This Eclipse, by re-aligning our Earth, Moon, Sun and Solar system with the Galactic Centre began the process of healing this split between the spiritual and the physical aspects of Will energy, and the expression of masculine power. Inevitably, after a major healing impulse of this nature, there follows a healing crisis, and period of purification - it can appear that things are getting much worse, as the "symptoms" are brought to the surface to be dealt with. A homÏopathic reaction on a global scale!

      The conjunction of North Node, Moon, Sun, Jupiter and Mercury suggests the "eclipsing" of outmoded ideas and ideals, both secular, philosophical and religious, and the need to move towards a more instinctual and spontaneous sense of values...this is the next stage on (11:03 - 12:04) from the eclipsing of the Piscean Age values that took place at the August ´99 Eclipse. The conjunction of Juno and Saturn emphasises the need for our ideals (9th house) to now become based on soul-values rather than what is rational, or philosophical, or received wisdom from third parties - teachers, gurus, prophets, saviours etc....it is to do with trusting our own innate "knowing", and embodying more and more the truth of our own soul in this 3rd dimensional reality. Those who continue to play by the old rules of the Piscean Age will unfortunately receive some sharp wake-up calls, as we are dealing with Divine Will First Ray energy here....it is as if the Universal Intelligence is saying "it really is time you got this now, and if you can´t do it the easy way, then you´ll have to do it the hard way, as time is running out....or actually, it doesn´t exist any more."
The presence of the Venus / Vesta conjunction still offers us the easier route of living unconditionally and lovingly from the heart - the choice is ours.

JULY 19TH 22.45 UT MARS GOES DIRECT

These planetary aspects require a vast amount of alertness, awakeness and the willingness to confront uncomfortable truths about ourselves, in order that we may wake up to the inter-dimensional realities which are upon us, whether we like it or not.

AUGUST 24TH      Third Mars / Chiron conjunction. They are also exactly conjunct the star Ras Alhague in Ophiuchus, the 13th zodiac constellation (between Scorpio and Sagittarius). This is the sign of the cosmic healing serpent. Ras Alhague is the head of the serpent bearer, and symbolises the desire to heal the wound in consciousness through the divine feminine.

SEPTEMBER 11TH - WORLD TRADE CENTRE ATROCITY      This world-engaging, horrendous event was the manifestation of the increasing intensity of the planetary patterns since Mars turned direct on July 19th, and the working out of aspects of the First Ray quality of the June Eclipse. The Jupiter meridian had just passed over New York minutes before this happened, so it seems important to consider its placement and meaning in the chart. Together with the North Node, the Moon and Saturn in the 9th house, it is challenging us all to transform our attachment to our belief systems, be they political, philosophical or religiousÉ.more than that, as we watched people dying on our TV screens, it woke us up to our vulnerability and mortality, especially within the structures which we have created in the global society. We see in this chart the potential for a lot of positive transformation.

11TH SEPTEMBER 2001 08.48 EDT NEW YORK

What we have seen working out so far, are the old forms, which will be increasingly perceived to be ineffective, impotent, inappropriate and counter-productive, feeding rather than resolving the problems of the world. There are many people already living and voicing this new expression of the masculine, and we can only pray that its voice becomes loud enough to be impossible to ignore.

OCTOBER 5TH      Third Pallas / Pluto conjunction. Completion of what was begun at the Spring Equinox. The energies involved with the re-definition of the male and female warrior archetypes have now been played out. It remains to be seen how effective we will each be in realising the potentials contained in these alignments.

NOVEMBER 14TH 11.06 UT      PALLAS ATHENE, CONJUNCT CHIRON AND THE GALACTIC CENTRE Another step in the process of aligning the energy of the male and female warrior with the core aspects of our spiritual nature.

DECEMBER 14TH      ANNULAR SOLAR ECLIPSE. Begins at 19.10 UT over Midway Islands in Pacific, passing over Hawaiian islands (80% eclipse visible there), ending over Costa Rica in Central America, also eclipsing Mayan pyramid sites.

ASTRO*CARTOGRAPHY FOR MAXIMUM ECLIPSE AT 20.52 UT

The chart also depicts the stars of Scorpio (black lettered circles) which travel across the Pacific (east to west) as the Earth turns, clustered around the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Chiron, Venus and Pluto.

      This is a deeply transformative Eclipse, passing over the ancient Lemurian lands. The Sun and Moon are conjunct the South Node, suggesting that this is concerned with the release of some very ancient emotional / power patterns within the energy matrix of the planet. This is an Annular Eclipse, which means that the point of Totality in the Eclipse shadow is above the surface of the Earth, releasing from the energy body of the Earth, patterns which may have been held within the subtle body of Earth for millennia. It is also significant that this eclipse passes over the lands where humanity first witnessed the energy of the Millennium sunrise, after the Pluto/Chiron conjunction (30.12.99). Lemuria was the Age when humanity discovered its Will....it is now coming of age, and being challenged to execute the will in alignment with spiritual values, and Love. This is the day on which Venus moves into exact conjunction with Pluto (at 16.51 UT), just a few hours before the eclipse begins. This eclipse is showing us the transformative power of Love, and the need to align the expression of the Will with Love. The true power of Venus is available to us again. For the first time for sometime we can express our spiritual will with beauty in our love life and relationships.

      At the beginning of the eclipse, the Sun and Moon meridians are exactly over Easter Island / Rapa Nui, a major earth chakra having at least 7 powerful alignments to major sites across the world, including Giza, Persepolis, Macchu Picchu, Tiahuanacu, Uluru, Bandiagara, Fatima, Bali, Borobodur, Mount Kailas, Mount Fuji, Palenque, Ohio Serpent Mound, Jerusalem and Angkor Wat
As the Eclipse ends, the Sun, Moon and South Node are exactly over the Hawaiian Islands, the Royale / Alta Major chakra of the planet. Ceres and Neptune, carrying unconditional Love and Divine Grace are over Easter Island.
