Artshare South West is the regional arts and disability organisation which promotes and developes equal opportunities and access to the arts.

Artshare works through:

Campaigning and advocacy
By influencing, supporting and encouraging mainstream arts providers to make their own programmes more accessible.
By promoting disabled people's work
By influencing statutory authorities on the value of the arts to those in care.
By employing disabled people as development workers, as consultants, as artists.
Advice and Information
On arts and disability issues.
On fundraising
On disabled and non disabled artists and performers with appropriate experience.
On access and how to improve it.
Training
Providing Disability Equality Awareness Training for artists, arts officers and arts based organisations.
Providing basic arts skills training to care organisations.
Providing placements for artists.
providing placements for disabled people as arts managers.
Key Demonstration Projects
By developing projects and initiatives of artistic quality with disabled people.
By developing partnerships with other disability and arts organisations.
By supporting and facilitating arts projects by disabled people.
By offering activities such as visual arts and crafts, creative writing, music, video and film making, photography, dance, movement and mime. Workshops, performances and exhibitions.
Artshare works with elderly people, people with physical disabilities, people with learning difficulties, users of mental health services, people with sensory disabilities and people with chronic, long-term or terminal illness.
Artshare South West is a company with charitable status which operates in the six counties of the South West region - Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset and Gloucestershire. It is funded by South West Arts, local authorities, trusts, foundations and businesses.
