On the roof of the world , it is no surprise that Tibet is a sacred and spiritual place . Hidden from much of the outside world until earlier this centuary Tibet existed in ways very much alien to those of the west. The religous tradition of Tibet is a buddhist one, most probably having come from India, and flourishing for many hundreds of years before the Chinese invasion of 1949 . From that point there has been mass suppression and the destruction of temples monasrtries and holy texts.

For a society so interwoven into its religous beliefs and practices this has been an obvious attempt to destroy the Tibetan people and their culture . Since the 1950's Tibets spiritual and temporal leader has been forced to live in exile with many others who have been forced to flee and continue to bring about freedom through a peaceful revolution . It is with heart and not fist that Tibet shall be free and it is with such beliefs that I think we should explore . For it must be a noble soul that can forgive their enemies , breaking the vicious circles of hate and fear.

In this sense can Tibet, its people and ourselves accomplish the quest for peace and joy in the world helping everyone around us to reach the point of enlightenment, to become 'Bodda'.The cycles of life, death and rebirth create the foundations of Tibetan buddhism. The journey of the soul through many lives, dealing with karma, learning, growing to the point of perfection.

Here in prayer and meditation we can help to generate love and peace . With love and respect for all that is around us we could quell the arguement pain and war to live and evolve in harmony.
