BASIC SKILLS RYA LEVEL 2 (D2)

TEENAGERS + ADULTS

Take a week off work and by the end of the course you will be sailing a dinghy on your own! The best way to learn to sail, this course if full of fun, new skills and meeting new people. The first 2 days of this course are as above with a capsize drill practice thrown in at the end on the second day. On the 3rd day we practice landing, launching and stopping skills as well as covering relevant theory such as tides, weather, buoyage, and rope work. By the 4th day it is time to put new skills into practice and go on a day sail. If the tides are good we normally go up river with a stop at the turf locks Hotel Inn for lunch. During the day we learn how to anchor, pick up a mooring, come alongside and how to recover a man over board. On the final day of the course we have a go at racing, brush up on skills learnt with an end of course de-brief and certification.
