I keep my family details on Brother's Keeper. Here are some of the main lines:
FRENCH: William French ca 1540 - 1614 lived Mylcombe, Oxon; the family moved to South Newington and then Hook Norton, Oxon. (links: Stranke, Harris, Wyet, Mayo) Samuel French 1777 - 1846 moved to Buckingham. At this time, two Frenches married STUCHBERY, and there are many descendants with that surname in England and Australia. My grandfather Benjamin was a chemist in Gosport, Hants (links: BATCHELOR, Biddle, Page, Lucas, Wilson, Cain). My father Ted (Edward) taught in Stonehouse, Glos.
My mother Hilda CLOUGH was born in Birmingham. Her ancestor Thomas Edward Taylor Clough, son of Samuel and Catherine, was a seaman in London, born 1800. His son Wm. Knight Clough was a policeman in Leighton Buzzard, and Hilda's father Arthur was on the staff of a BIRMINGHAM paper. Her mother was a RATLEY from Banbury, Oxon. (links to NSW, AUSTRALIA), and grandmother Emma HAYDON emigrated to CANADA.
A big database, of over 27,000 names of people related to us, by blood or by marriage, is kept at Rootsweb's WorldConnect site. You can move to it by clicking here
