Lovecraft's Legacy A collection dedicated to Lovecraft which is filled with tales in his memory. Although it has occasional weak points this is a very good collection, Highlights are Will by Graham Masterton, about Shakespear's dark secret; H.P.L by Gahan Wilson, where Lovecraft and an undead Clark Ashton Smith carry out sacrifices to the old ones; The Barrens by F. Paul Wilson, an excellent story about a powerful Nexus in the backwoods of America. [in print - UK / US]
Millenium
This anthology novel (known as Revelations in the US) is an inspired piece
of work bringing together some of the best modern contemporary Horror authors.
The stories themselves are not genre pieces, rather gems of dark literature,
where each author takes a decade of the Twentieth Century and creates
something unique within that time frame. Unlike most anthologies there are no
real weak links, and it really does work well as a "novel", with each story
acting as a facet of the greater whole. Wrapped around the tales based in
our century is a two part story by Clive Barker which demonstrates more of
his unique strangeness. An anthology which is likely to stay in your mind
for a long time after you have read it. [in print - UK / US]
