Daily, chilled distribution on a nationwide basis is a costly and sophisticated operation. On a typical day over 20,000 sandwiches are manufactured at Taysters' Rotherham factory, and each day they are delivered to hundreds of sites all over the UK via Taysters' own fleet of refrigerated vehicles.

With the day's production completed, orders are carefully picked and dispatched in returnable plastic trays for their individual destinations. Whilst some customers' sites are supplied via their own Regional Distribution Centres, the majority are supplied directly by Taysters.

Delivery vehicles travel through the night, delivering to customers' units into the early morning.

Production and delivery continue regardless of bank holidays (except Christmas) to ensure fresh sandwiches are available at all Taysters' customers throughout the year.

Taysters' fleet consists of Mercedes Sprinter refrigerated vans and the fleet will cover in excess of 1,300,000 miles each year, delivering millions of sandwiches to thousands of customers.

All vehicles are in direct contact with the Transport Office via mobile phone, with 24hr backup services ready to take care of any unforeseen delays and breakdowns.

Each vehicle is tracked by satelitte, providing a record of their locations and movements. apart from allowing pin-point location of each vehicle in real time to verify delivery schedules, it allosw for the efficient addition of new delivery points without the need to drive the route in advance.
