Kiteboarding is the ultimate watersport and achieves an adreneline buzz like no other. The sport has only been around for the last few years and is now far more accessible than ever before. Kiteboarding combines elements of windsurfing, wakeboarding, snow boarding and water skiing. It is however the lure of big air that most find irresistible and for those that are committed it can be a reality far sooner than you imagine.

Spinnakers is perfectly set up for teaching the sport with our unparalleled knowledge of the Exe Estuary and our commitment to kiteboarding. We aim to teach the sport in as safe a way as possible and use the most remote parts of the estuary for training.

We only use top quality up to the minute equipment from Airush a company fully committed to the advancement of the sport. All our instructors are fully (IKO) qualified and amongst the top local kiteboarders, so you can trust their advice as they have been there and done it many times. We are committed to teaching the sport safely and introducing it to a wide range of people. It looks ridiculously difficult, however given appropriate equipment and training it is within the grasp of most reasonably fit people.

Safety first
It is however not the sort of sport that you can teach yourself or get your mate to teach you. The key to safe learning is to use specialised equipment that allows you to improve your skills and progress from small to larger kites. The future of the sport rests with the actions of all participants and in particular those that are learning. It is for your safety and the safety of other water users and the general public at large that you must get started at an approved School.

As the local IKO, BKSA and AALA approved kiteboarding school you can be assured that the coaching and equipment is of the highest standard. Our Instructors are all extremely committed and kiteboard to a high standard with most having over 10 years coaching experience within the watersports industry. You can be assured that they will make the key decisions that ensure you get to use the best of the available conditions and you will be riding in safety.

As a school we use Airush Kites and boards, the company is dedicated to ensuring that their entry level equipment makes the sport as accessible as possible. We replace the kites regularly to allow you to play with the latest developments in this growing sport that is still technologically making big steps.
